Student Safety, Mandatory Reporting & Misconduct Procedures
In accordance with Florida Statutes 1006.061(1), Tallahassee Autism Academy is committed to full compliance with all child protection and mandatory reporting requirements under Florida law.
The safety, protection, and well-being of our students is our highest priority.

Mandatory Reporting of Abuse, Abandonment, or Neglect
All employees of Tallahassee Autism Academy are mandatory reporters under Florida law.
This means every instructional personnel member, educational support employee, and school administrator has a legal duty to immediately report any actual or suspected child abuse, abandonment, neglect, or exploitation.
Employees who report suspected abuse in good faith are granted immunity from civil or criminal liability under Florida law.
All employees are also required to fully comply with child protective investigations conducted by appropriate authorities.
Failure to report suspected or actual child abuse, abandonment, neglect, exploitation, or misconduct may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment and may subject the individual to criminal penalties under Florida law.

Reporting Misconduct by School Personnel
Tallahassee Autism Academy maintains clear policies and procedures for reporting misconduct by educational support employees, instructional personnel, and school administrators.
Misconduct includes any behavior that affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student.

How to Report Concerns
Reports of suspected abuse or employee misconduct may be made to:

Reports may be made verbally or in writing. All reports will be reviewed promptly and handled confidentially to the extent permitted by law.
Failure by any school employee to report suspected child abuse or misconduct by another employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, and may carry legal consequences.
